Cruisers (Book #1)Cruisers by Walter Dean Myers

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I thought this book was good, but not great. It was about the civil war and how 8th graders at a gifted school reacted to a group of students acting as if they were southern slave owners. I think it would be a good book to share with students in regards to learning about the civil war and what children actually think about it.

Really good book that focuses on racial prejudice through the eyes of a twelve year old. A really fast read.

Poor Little Bitch Girl

Poor Little Bitch Girl Poor Little Bitch Girl by Jackie Collins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I have to say. I love Jackie Collins, but sometimes the size of her books intimidate me. I'm glad that I didn't let the size of this newest one get to me because it was absolutely amazing. If you've never read a Collins novel, you will be amazed. She is totally awesome. It has drama, mystery and intrigue all wrapped into one totally awesome read. You will have to read it and judge for yourself. Bravo Ms. Collins. I can't for the next one.

Up To No Good

Up To No Good Up To No Good by Carl Weber

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I had been trying to finish this book in my car for the longest time that when it really started getting good, I had to place my name on the reserve list for the actual book. If you crave drama and really want to go out of your comfort zone, this is the book to indulge in. James Black, his daughter Jaime, and his son Darnell will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you try to comprehend what exactly is going on in their minds. It has the "oh no she didn't" feel to it that makes it a book that you won't be able to put down or if you are a book on CD listener, you will be driving around the block a couple of time with your husband calling your phone and asking where you are (sorry baby). Please read this book so that I will know that I'm not crazy and that Carl Weber is truly the king of the Drama novel.

My Sweet Audrina

My Sweet Audrina My Sweet Audrina by V.C. Andrews

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was a very haunting and engaging book by this great author. If you've never read anything by V.C. Andrews, this is a great start. It is the only book written by the original author that is not a series. I also recommend the Flowers in the Attic Series as well. Great books.
